Careers Open Day at The Manchester College

We recently attended a careers open day at The Manchester College, joining other businesses from across Tameside to give students an insight into different industries and career opportunities.
Our team brought along a PMT GAMMA portable measuring arm with scanner and a 3DeVOK MT Gen2 3D scanner, giving students and teachers the chance to get hands-on with some of the latest 3D scanning and portable measurement technology.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to try out the equipment, ask questions and learn more about what we do at Manchester Metrology. We also explained the role metrology plays in advanced engineering and manufacturing, including how equipment such as portable measuring arms, 3D scanners, laser trackers and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) are used for dimensional inspection, quality control, 3D scanning and reverse engineering.
It was great to see students taking an interest in the equipment and learning more about the different career opportunities available within metrology, engineering and manufacturing.
A big thank you to The Manchester College for inviting us along and giving local businesses the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with the next generation.
